Wave Motion | Waves | Physics | FuseSchool

All waves can transfer energy from one place to another without transferring any matter. This is done by a series of disturbances or vibrations that carry the energy. Just like the people in their seats, only moving up and down when it’s their turn.

Waves can transfer energy through solids, liquids, gases and empty spaces – otherwise known as vacuums. There are two types of waves – which we will look at in more detail in another video, but the basic features are the same.

Disturbance is the cause of such natural phenomena, but not the explicit description about how particles' motions create the concept of a wave and why wave is not forned by any actual displacement of any physical element of a wave-conducting substance
When oscillation and vibration are used to describe such natural phenomena , it will automatically relate readers to the density of substances which decide whether a substance allows any wave to take place in their molocular structures. Whenever any form of matter or existence oscillates or vibrates , there obviously has to be some space around them, and space around particles of a substance always has to do with the density of atoms in the molecular structure
I have read so many definitions of wave by so many people with phd degrees in physics , but none has been able to give any unambiguous description of tge natural phenomena as waves
Such definitions are not merely vague , but also shallow

The word " disturbance " is vauge or ambiguous and does not carry any direct meaning to the human concept of wave , because it only describes the cause of the phenomenon" wave"
The best words to describe the natural phenomenon of wave are either oscillation or vibration which have direct meanings of the same momentary displacement of the particles of a disturbed substance , about their equilibrium positions and help people understand at once that waves formed by such oscillations or vibrations do not transport any mass , but merely carry kinetic energy or energy from an external influence , such as a force which disturbs the immediate particles on the outward surface of the disturbed substance causing the particle's momentary displacements about their equilibrium positions or their oscillations or vibrations about their natural positions in the substance's natural molocular structure
