MANILA, Philippines — Around 300 families were left homeless when a re razed a residential area, destroying at least 200 houses in Bacoor City, Cavite yesterday.
The city disaster risk reduction and management ofce said the re started at 5:26 a.m. along Waling-Waling
street in Barangay Zapote 1. Fireghters doused the re, which reached the third alarm, at 7:04 a.m.
Arson investigators from the Bureau of Fire Protection are gathering statements from witnesses and other pieces of evidence to determine the cause of the re as affected residents seek shelter in an evacuation center.
